Ontario Long Track Skaters - T'es bien capable!

Thirty nine skaters from across the province represented Ontario at the Canadian Age Class Long Track Championships in Ste. Foy, Quebec this past weekend. While the weather was challenging at times, Team Ontario was strong and showed great spirit.

Skaters earned medals in the individual distances, relays, and team pursuits. Ontario received the Most Improved Branch award. Congratulations to all!

Individual highlights include:

Girls 11: Claire Mallard (Ottawa) 2nd overall, 1st in 3000m, 2nd in 300m, 3rd in 100m.

Girls 13: Kara Neveau (Sault Ste. Marie) 3rd overall, 3rd in 500m.

Open Women: Bethany McKinley-Young (Ottawa) 2nd overall, 1st in 3000m, 2nd in 500m, 2nd in 1000m, 2nd in 1500m; Adrienne Gaudreault (Ottawa) 3rd overall, 3rd in 3000m; MacKenzie Newman (Clarington) 3rd in 500m and 1000m.

Boys 13: Oliver Scharf (Ottawa) 3rd overall, 1st in 100m, 3rd in 300m; Connor Rogerson (Ottawa) 1st in 3000m, 2nd in 100m.

Boys 14: Nicholas Everett (St. Lawrence) 3rd overall, 3rd in 300m, 500m, and 3000m; Ethan McKinley-Young (Ottawa) 2nd in 300m.

Open Men: Mitchell Richmond (Sault Ste. Marie) 2nd overall, 2nd in 1000m and 3000m, 3rd in 1500m; Thomas ten Kortenaar (Cambridge) 2nd in 1500m, 3rd in 500m and 3000m; Josh Grawbarger (Sault Ste. Marie) 2nd in 500m.
