Canada Games Selections Update

Since the Canada Cup #1 Long Track competition last weekend in Ste. Foy, there have been questions raised as to how the results of this meet would be applied in the unlikely event OSSA needs to use the results from Canada Cup #1 as our selection meet as a result of the December 18/19 CWG Selection Event not going forward.

As Canada Cup #1 afforded athletes the opportunity to skate a ranking distance more than once in certain distances their “best” time for that distance at the meet will be used as their “time” for ranking.

Taking the “best” times into account for each distance, a ranking list, by distance, will be developed.  Then performance points will be applied following the order of ranking.

A team will then be named using this ranking in the event the results of the CWG Trials are incomplete or unsuitable to be used for team selection.

Coach of the Month - Nominations Wanted!

Do you think your coach deserves some recognition?  We do!

The coach of the month program is designed to recognize our hard working coaches for everything they do.  Skaters and parents can nominate a coach by filling in a nomination form.  There is no criteria for nominating someone, just tell us why you think your coach is special.

Each month one nominee will be chosen at random and featured on our site and in a member email as the coach of the month.

Nominations will be kept until the end of each calendar year at which time they will expire and the process will start again.  There is no limit to the number of times you can nominate your coach.
