FUNdamentals B Course Offering

The Kingston Striders are looking at running a Fundamentals Part B course, at a date to suit, conducted by Mike Rivet. Pre-requisites are having attended a Fundamentals Part A, an Intro to Competition Part A or a “Fundamental Leaders” course.  “Fundamental Leaders” would have to take the Part A course at a later date to earn full coaching certification.  If you have any members wishing to take up this opportunity please liaise directly with Steve Beattie of the Kingston Club.

Club of the Month Highlight

Today’s clubs are using social networking as a tool to generate communication between members and also attract new members.  This is a great tool for both new and old clubs and a great example can be found with the Hamilton Speed Skating Club. They have an excellent website that combines the content and updates of both SSC and OSSA for their membership with clear links to various social networking sites.

Christine Nesbitt (London, ON) made it a perfect weekend, winning the second round of the women’s 1000m event on Day Two of the Changchun Long Track World Cup in China.  Jamie Gregg (Edmonton, AB) continues to post strong performances, anchoring the Canadian men’s team.
