October Club Highlight - Barrie

Barrie Speed Skating ClubThanks to the Olympics, speed skating received incredible coverage and the much needed attention that it deserves.  In the Spring of 2010 (post Olympics) Barrie ran a Spring (April) four week session.  We had 15 new skaters ranging from 5 years old to adult come out for a one time free trial or some signed up for the four sessions.  Out of the 15, 5 became members for the upcoming season!!

This Fall, we provided a three week session (four weeks were not available).  20 new skaters came out…again ranging from 5 years of age to adult.  Out of the 20 new skaters, at least 10 have registered for the upcoming season!!

Because of the increase, we have been able to add a half hour to the existing programs to accommodate Beginners and Advanced skaters.  Our Coaching staff has been amazing in regards to accommodating all of the new skaters.  We are truly blessed as a Club to have the Coaches that we have.
