Physical Literacy Training 

The 2017 International Physical Literacy conference is taking place in Toronto on April 12-15. 

In addition, the Markham Pan Am centre is hosting a “Super Hero Training” workshop on April 12.


$45,000 available to Canadian speed skating clubs!

Clubs have until Friday, March 31, to apply

Ottawa, March 27, 2017 – A total of $45,000, including one grand prize of $10,000 and seven $5,000 grants, are available to Canadian speed skating clubs as part of the 2017 Intact Insurance Podium Tracker Program.

Clubs have until Friday, March 31, to submit their application for $5,000 or $10,000 to help them tackle challenges such as the purchase of equipment, coaching services, recruitment or ice time.

The $45,000 donated by Intact this season represent the 45 individual medals, on a total of 64, won by Canadian skaters at Long Track and Short Track World Cups and World Senior Championships. For each of these individual medals, Intact Insurance is donating $1,000 to the Podium Tracker Program. The list of successful grant recipients will be announced in the spring of 2017.

Fundamentals Coach Part A

There is still space available for coaches to attend Fundamentals Coach Part A in Hamilton on April 1-2, 2017.

Registration fee is $160. Contact to register before March 24th.


SETH 2017-2018

OSSA is pleased to announce details about the second season of its Skating Excellence Training Hubs (SETH) program.

Athlete Selection Criteria has been posted on the SETH page along with preliminary event dates. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

Coaches interested in participating as SETH coaches for the 2017-2018 season should review the job description and submit a resume with cover letter to by the deadline of Wednesday, April 5th at 12:00pm.


Milton Mayhem Spring Camp

The Milton Speed Skating Club would like to invite skaters to participate in our Milton May-Hem spring training camp. This camp was developed to give regional skaters looking to skate at a provincial level a chance for extra training opportunities. If your goal is to make the provincial level race series we hope you will take advantage of this additional on and off ice training time.
