NCCP Competition-Development Coach Training & Certification

Speed Skating Canada is offering a Competition-Development package in the format of multiple webinars as well as live sessions. This program is for coaches coaching Canada Winter Games and ISU Junior A, B, C level & up athletes (Train to Train, Learn to Compete, Train to Compete).

You must confirm your participation by April 30, 2018. The total cost is $500. The first half ($250) must be paid to SSC by April 30, 2018. The second installment ($250) will be due July 20, 2018.

Ontario Speed Skating Awards Dinner & Conference

Ontario Speed Skating is pleased to announce that we will be hosting an Awards Dinner and Conference on June 2 & 3, 2018! The event will take place at the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront located at 2 Princess St, Kingston, ON K7L1A2

Conferences will run from 12:00-4:00pm on Saturday afternoon, with the Awards Dinner starting at 6:00pm. Sunday morning will continue with additional conferences from 9:00-12:00pm. More details to follow!
 
We are now accepting applications for this year’s awards:

Club of the Year, Official of the Year, Coach of the Year, Outstanding Administrator of the Year, Rising Star, Skater of the Year and Volunteer of the Year (Click on the award title to open nomination forms). The deadline to submit a nomination is May 4, 2018. Awards will be given out at the Awards Dinner on Saturday June 2, 2018.


Everyone is welcome at this year’s Awards Dinner and Conference! A block of rooms have been reserved under Ontario Speed Skating. To book a room, call 613-549-8400 x 2660 and ask to speak to Anna Marie Devos. Rooms are available for $159.99

Ontario athletes head to Quebec!

Good luck to all of our athletes representing Team Ontario at Canada East Short Track Championships this weekend! We are very proud to be sending 46 athletes this year. Congratulations to all skaters - we will be cheering for you!

Final List of Ontario Card Nominations Announced!

The Ontario Speed Skating Association is pleased to announce the final list of athletes who have been nominated for Ontario Cards under the 2017-2018 Quest for Gold - Ontario Athlete Assistance Program (OAAP). The athletes nominated were selected using the sport specific selection criteria developed by the Ontario Speed Skating Association, approved by its Board of Directors and applied by (the) Selection Committee.

2018 Short Track Summer Camp

The Ontario Speed Skating Association, in partnership with Nagano Skate, is pleased to announce the Short Track Summer Camp in Toronto, Ontario for speed skaters between the ages of 8-20!

This full-day camp for speed skaters includes two ice sessions per day, dryland training,
classroom activity sessions and a fully sanctioned competition for camp participants on August 4, 2018.

The camp will feature the High Performance coaching team from Nagano Skate: Eric Bédard,
Charles Hamelin, Francois Drolet and Kenan Gouadec!
