NextGen Coaching Application

The Ontario Speed Skating Association (OSSA) is accepting applications for the NextGen Provincial Training Program, formally SETH. Under Eric Bedard’s leadership, we have reviewed our current program. Recognizing that developing coaches in the province of Ontario is a priority, we are expanding the opportunity for coaches to be involved with the program.

June Awards Dinner & Conference

Ontario Speed Skating and Queen’s University have arranged for a block of rooms to accommodate families attending our June Awards Dinner & Conference on June 2 & 3, 2018.

Rooms will only be available for the negotiated price until May 1, 2018, and are subject to availability. It is highly recommended that you book your reservation as soon as possible. There is a no fee, 24 hour cancellation policy.

NCCP Competition-Development Coach Training & Certification

Speed Skating Canada is offering a Competition-Development package in the format of multiple webinars as well as live sessions. This program is for coaches coaching Canada Winter Games and ISU Junior A, B, C level & up athletes (Train to Train, Learn to Compete, Train to Compete).

You must confirm your participation by April 30, 2018. The total cost is $500. The first half ($250) must be paid to SSC by April 30, 2018. The second installment ($250) will be due July 20, 2018.

Ontario Speed Skating Awards Dinner & Conference

Ontario Speed Skating is pleased to announce that we will be hosting an Awards Dinner and Conference on June 2 & 3, 2018! The event will take place at the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront located at 2 Princess St, Kingston, ON K7L1A2

Conferences will run from 12:00-4:00pm on Saturday afternoon, with the Awards Dinner starting at 6:00pm. Sunday morning will continue with additional conferences from 9:00-12:00pm. More details to follow!
We are now accepting applications for this year’s awards:

Club of the Year, Official of the Year, Coach of the Year, Outstanding Administrator of the Year, Rising Star, Skater of the Year and Volunteer of the Year (Click on the award title to open nomination forms). The deadline to submit a nomination is May 4, 2018. Awards will be given out at the Awards Dinner on Saturday June 2, 2018.

Everyone is welcome at this year’s Awards Dinner and Conference! A block of rooms have been reserved under Ontario Speed Skating. To book a room, call 613-549-8400 x 2660 and ask to speak to Anna Marie Devos. Rooms are available for $159.99
