The Long Track World Cup Circuit kicked off last weekend in Poland.

5 OSSA Skaters were in action, including 4 Gloucester Concordes! Highlights include:

Isabelle Weidemann: Isabelle broke the Track Record and won silver in the 3000m. She also won Gold in the Team Pursuit with her teammates, and finished 1st in the 1500m B division.


Ivanie Blondin: Ivanie skated 4 events in Poland! She was part of the Golden Women's Team Pursuit team, and won Silver in the Mass Start event. She finished 8th in the 3000m and 11th in the 1500m.


Jordan Belchos: Jordan won Silver in the Men's Team Pursuit and finished 16th in the competitive Men's 5000m.


Vincent de Haitre: Vince made his return to international speed skating racing after competing in Track Cycling in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics only 3 short months ago! Vince finished 14th in the 1000m in his return to the ice.


Jake Weidemann: Jake made his World Cup debut and raced in the 1500m B Division where he finished 13th!

Congratulations to our OSSA skaters and all of Team Canada on a great return to the World Cup Circuit!

OSSA had a strong showing at Canada Cup 1 this past weekend in Calgary. We had 12 skaters racing and 3 current or former OSSA Officials involved in the competition. Jackie Fackoury led the starting team, Jacky Shoebridge was the Chief Referee and Sue Steckle was the Recorder.


Racing highlights include Andria Scarpelli finishing 1st in the 1500m distance and 2nd overall, and Sam Galloway finishing 6th in the 1500m.


6 skaters have qualified for Canadian Junior Short Track Championships in Sherbrooke on November 26-28. Congrats to everyone on a great weekend of racing!
